About Me.

Lynn Bierbaum is an Alternative Photographer and Glass Artist based in Rochester, New York. She is currently pursuing her MFA in photography and related media at the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT). She started working in film back in 2010 and alternative photography in 2015 starting with Platinum palladium and then moving into other processes such as albumen, salt, van dyke brown, and wet plate collodion.

On top of Lynn’s interests in historic process photography she is also a glassblower who has traveled across Europe and the United States. Assisting alongside artists all over the world. Including working for the Corning Museum of Glass, in upstate NY back in 2019.

Her current fine artwork is combining photographic techniques, including wet plate collodion on her blown glass forms. By making the glass vessels she creates an extension beyond the photograph itself, interweaving the two and three dimensional planes. Her work has been shown in galleries such as A Smith gallery, Institut d’Estudis Fotogràphics de Catalunya, Art Intersection and was featured as an interviewed artist in the first issue of Analog Forever Magazine.
