All Memories Fade

All works are separate pieces that together comprise the conceptual frameworks for the All Memories Fade MFA Thesis Exhibition.

Refracted Recollections

Refracted Recollections is an installation and sculptural exhibition examining familial connection through my developed fear of forgetting. The work Includes mixed media elements, including wet plate collodion images printed on hand-blown glass. Included in Lynn Bierbaum’s All Memories Fade MFA Thesis Exhibition in 2023.

Encapsulated Memories

Encapsulated Memories is a collection of hand-blown glass bell jars with silk images of the aerial view of my family farm encased in resin on a hand-built under-lit pedestal. The light from the pedestal only illuminates the bell jars, highlighting the distortions created by the resin surrounding the silk images. Included in Lynn Bierbaum’s All Memories Fade MFA Thesis Exhibition in 2023.

Our Optical Impressions

Our optical impressions are kallitype prints resembling the neurological pathways that connect our memories. The image depicts a series of perpendicular lines that cross paths and intersect time.

Dwindled Dreams

As I’ve gotten older, time appears to move faster. The moments in my past, slowly lose information as I age. These prints to me represent the faded memories of upbringing. Calling back on abstraction and distortion to convey absence of clarity throughout my work.
